My passion lies in travel and design. About half the year you'll find me traipsing around the globe in search of exotic destinations, epic adventures and stunning locales. I'm a painter, an interior designer and a dog mom. I want to create art every single day, I want guests to experience moments so thrilling they are using that perfectly patterned napkin we selected to wipe away tears of joy. I want the party to be so epic that guests are shouting "This is so freaking amazing!" and asking how much longer they get to dance the night away for.

If I'm not traveling, I start with a great playlist. A cappuccino (or 2), a long walk with my dogs Bear and Smalls, painting or reading a good book and ending with good bourbon fireside and a golden sunset while cooking something cozy. Outside of events, you can usually find me exploring a new country, checking out a local market for beautiful wares and trying to figure out how I'll fit everything in my suitcase...

1. I'm an animal lover and dog mom through and through. 2. I'm sarcastic as hell and have to be around people with a good sense of humor 3. I'm an artist and I appreciate beautiful design, intimate moments and living an intentional life above most things. I get inspiration from traveling the world, exploring beautiful architecture, fashion, and culture and try to translate the love story of a couple into design in a way that feels intimate, sentimental and extraordinary.

After years of working non-profit fundraising events, Moriah started working at Oatlands Historic House and Gardens as Event Director and fell in love with running weddings. Three years later, she decided to leave the venue side of the wedding business and start planning full time. With over ten years planning events, she is still loving everything about event planning, from the smallest logistical detail to the smiles of her clients, she can't get enough. Rachel has also decided Moriah stays at TOME forever and ever so I hope she's comfortable.

When not traveling all of Virgina and beyond working on events, Moriah lives in Chincoteague, VA with her husband Jon and their two amazing dogs, Jet and Maybe. Her favorite things to do include sitting on the beach with a good book, doing puzzles with a good cup of coffee, and snuggling on the couch with her puppies and a good glass of whiskey or wine. She is currently working to renovate her 100 year house on Chincoteague to bring it back to its former beauty. This is why she doesn't like to do video calls, she has to wash off all the paint and sawdust to look decent.

She loves her dogs more than anything! They are the best part of her day, everyday. (Her husband comes in a close second.)
She does not like cupcakes. Cake is a messy crumbly food that is typically eaten in front of people and you always end up with frosting on your fingers and/or nose and crumbs everywhere. "Just give me a fork and let me eat cake like it is supposed to be eaten!"
She doesn't use Instagram. She has tried and failed. When in the moment, she always forgets to take photos, she just likes to experience what is happening.
What are 3 things everyone should know about you?
The One Moment Events Team knocked it out of the park. They were so prepared for everything throughout the planning process and the days leading up to our wedding. They were so communicative and helpful. The entire team is FIRE. I loved everyone's sense of humor and their true professionalism. Almost all of our vendors were hand-picked recommendations from the TOME team, which boosted our confidence. Our wedding was beautiful and we would not have been able to do it without Rachel and the TOME team. They are the DREAM TEAM!

After speaking on the phone for an hour to chat about my vision and listen to her work process, I knew Rachel and her team at The One Moment Events were the ones. What I didn't know was just how integral a part of my wedding they would become. We had an issue with our caterer backing out 5 months before our wedding, and within 24 hours, Rachel had 3 contracts for other caterers to me. Amazing. The team even helped the photographer set up some of our favorite images throughout the wedding night. While the list of people I love is vast I would love to sit down to have Drinks/Dinner with Audrey Hepburn. While she is most famously known for her style and ability to dominate the film world, she was known to have an amazing work ethic and an even bigger heart for social injustices. I would love to sit with her and discuss how she balanced her career, her partnerships, her children, and UNICEF, while still remembering to put on makeup every day!

Every morning I start my day with quiet reflections and an Orange Theory Fitness Class. (I like to think of it as my two extremes.) From there my day is dominated by to-do's/checklists, renovating my condo, board/volunteer obligations, trying out new recipes, a big personality German shepard named Luke SkyPuppy (His IG is way better than mine), and my musically inclined husband DJ Sway.
I have been a government-certified meeting planner and have supported major initiatives for the DOJ before transitioning into event planning (corporate to weddings) While the DC metro area has been my home for 16 years I am still a Florida girl at heart and love soaking up the sunshine.

I strive to foster genuine relationships with clients in order to achieve the unique vision they have dreamed of. My favorite moment of any event is when I can see the pure joy on a client's face as they look at what has been accomplished.
What are 3 things everyone should know about you?
Attention to details, the note-taker, the follow-upper and the one that all the parents love. Once something is on Emme's checklist, it's inescapable.
Emme is our Charlottesville liaison where she lives with her husband and dog, Olive. Although her favorite places to visit are Maine, Canada & Italy. She loves a good road trip - has checklist, will travel!
Chocolate lover, Halloween fanatic and all things Christmas are her favorites. Emme used to do aerial trapeze which is how she bends over backwards for her clients!

Followed, of course, by a fabulous multi course meal by Gordon Ramsay."

start my mornings by listening to music while I make a frothy cappuccino. I always try to get moving and get outside on a run or a long walk with my husband and my dog, Olive. If it's summer, we're hiking and relaxing in Maine as much as possible and if it's fall or winter, I can be found decorating our home and baking while enjoying a movie! I love to spend time volunteering at animal shelters and traveling with my family. My days end by cooking up a favorite recipe or trying a new one from one of the many cookbooks I love to collect. The good days end with homemade dessert - preferably with chocolate!

Christine and Jason are F-U-N and wanted to incorporate their vivacious nature, favorite hobbies and special interests in their big day! We started with the essence of their favorite speakeasy in DC, threw in references to pop culture icons like Doctor Who and Harry Potter and tied it all together under a ballroom lit up like a starry night inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. With bold design and a sonic screwdriver exit, this was an unforgettable wedding!
