Planning your dream day shouldn't involve copy and pasting colors from the internet now should it be a stressful experience. We believe each wedding should be planned with intention and love - bespoke from start to finish. We believe that elevated experiences don't have to be stuffy and beautiful design should be approachable and welcoming. We believe in a collaborative approach so no personal touch is missed. We can't wait to tell your story and plan your happily ever after.
There are weddings that are beautiful… and then there are weddings that feel like you’ve stepped into a completely different universe. Weddings that reflect that once in a lifetime love and unique, fun personalities of the couple getting married.
Casey and Rob’s summer celebration at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond was bold, modern, wildly immersive and honestly, the kind of wedding that makes guests pause mid-cocktail and say, Wait… how did they DO this? Planned and designed by The One Moment Events, the day was equal parts editorial luxury, heartfelt romance, and a little playful nod to the couple’s story — because when your love story includes the Sydney Opera House, Top Gun, and scuba diving injuries, you don’t exactly do “basic ballroom.”

Casey + Rob: A Love Story Worth Traveling For
Casey and Rob have always been the kind of couple who collect moments the way other people collect souvenirs.
They were engaged in front of the Sydney Opera House in Australia (because of course they were) Iconic architecture, world-class views, and just the right amount of cinematic flair.
And that energy carried straight into their wedding day: meaningful, intentional, a little unexpected… and completely unforgettable.
Caseys father tragically passed away before he was able to walk Casey down the aisle but his presence was felt and honored throughout.
A Ceremony in the Round, Wrapped in a Living Garden
For the ceremony, we transformed the museum’s rotunda into something no one saw coming: a full garden built indoors, surrounding Casey and Rob in the most intimate way possible.
Trees, lush foliage, layered greenery, a ceremony in the round that made every guest feel close enough to witness not just the vows, but the emotion. We placed the string quartet on the catwalk above the entrance so beautiful instrumental music floated down to the guests below.
It was modern romance meets nature dreamscape, set against the striking architecture of one of Virginia’s most unique venues.
Florals by Steelcut Flower Co. made the space feel alive, like the museum itself had decided to grow a forest for the occasion.
Inspired by their love of travel and unexpected moments, we had the groomsmen, bridesmaids, groom and bride all enter from different directions. N-S-E-W so each group of guests got a front row seat.
Their ceremony was performed by Caseys sister, it was heartfelt, meaningful and left not a single dry eye.
Cocktail Hour Under the SR-71 Blackbird
Guests moved into cocktail hour beneath one of the Science Museum’s most iconic features: an SR-71 Blackbird suspended above the gallery.
With elevated bites from Heirloom Catering, interactive elements, and a space that already feels like an experience, cocktail hour was less “waiting for dinner” and more “welcome to the coolest party in Richmond.”
(Also: if you can sip champagne under a supersonic jet, you simply MUST)
Modern Chic Reception Design with Personalized Details
While guests enjoyed an epic raw bar and interactive elements, our teams flipped the rotunda in record time from a sentimental ceremony space to an epic hall full of grandeur for one of our all-time favorite designs.
The reception was designed with sleek, modern pieces from Something Vintage and Nuage Design, balancing scale and eras to create a space that felt both elevated and fresh.
Custom stationery moments by Oh Eleven Studio were seamlessly integrated. One sore spot when building the design was the check-in desk. Immovable and large, we couldn’t shove it into a storage room and we couldn’t hide it with anything large enough so instead, our team draped the entirety of the desk in 21 feet of hunter green velvet and created a unique seating chart moment for guests to re-enter and find their place waiting.
Not wanting to fill the tables with too much “stuff” we integrated the place cards and menus by printing each menu with the guests name.
But the real genius detail?
Hidden meal keys inspired by the museum itself:
Beef = the Foucault Pendulum (a nod to the famous pendulum swinging in the rotunda)
Chicken = the Supersonic Jet (hello, SR-71)
Vegetarian = swooped branches, echoing their nature-inspired invitation suite
Luxury weddings are all about the details and Casey and Rob’s were clever, personal, and hella fun.
Projection Mapping: A Forest Inside a Four-Story Rotunda
As dinner began, the rotunda became something else entirely.
Through projection mapping, guests were suddenly surrounded by a tranquil forest scene, babbling brook, woodland stillness, the feeling of being outdoors…
…while standing in the center of a four-story architectural masterpiece.
Then, as the night shifted into dancing, the space transformed again:
The forest faded into a starry sky. And the rotunda lit up with an aurora borealis overhead.
Paired with lighting design by Wedding Lighting Co., it was cinematic, transportive, and honestly breathtaking.
The First Dance That Left Everyone Speechless
For all the design magic, the most unforgettable moment was purely emotional.
Casey, a dancer, and Rob (seemingly also an incredibly talented dancer?!) took the floor for their first dance to “Take My Breath Away.” By Berlin
A nod to Rob’s favorite movie, Top Gun… a wink at the fact that he once punctured a lung scuba diving… and, of course, because Casey still takes his breath away.
The lifts. The twirls. The sheer drama of it all.
It wasn’t just a first dance, it was a performance, and the entire room was in awe.
Music by DJ EPX kept the celebration flowing seamlessly from elegant to electric up until the very last dance where Casey and Rob hopped into a horse drawn carriage and headed off into the night to their after party!
